Extrusion systems
Compact-style extruder Shown forthe first time at the
International Rubber Conference
in Nürnberg, Germany, in July 2003,
the new KGE Series Compact
Rubber Extruder has been specially
designed for the production of
technical rubber profiles and
rubber hoses.
Based on the popular and
well-proven 2000 series machines,
the KGE extruder incorporates
several major technical innovations
whilst retaining the best features
of the previous machine range.
The extruder is available in
vented and non-vented versions, in 60mm, 90mm and 120mm diameters,
with L:D ratios between 8 to 24 and the main variable speed drive is
powered by an AC motor with frequency inverter.
The compact design gives you a low space design by arrangement of the drive on the framing,
integrated TCU, integrated electrical equipment, means the extruder can be used in different locations,
ensures short installation times and lower installation costs.
For vented types, the unique DeSO System -Degassing Screw Optimising System- (patent pending)
allows the user to adjust the choke in front of the extruder degassing/venting zone when the
machine is actually in production. In this way the optimum settings can be determined for each
individual compound being processed to maintain the most effective conditions for degassing and
maximum throughput.
The TERem System -Tail End Removal System - reduces the time needed to remove and replace the
extruder screw. The screw is removed and replaced through the back of the gearbox unit without
the need to dismantle the extrusion head or to displace any of the extrusion line
downstream equipment.
A powered feed
roll with separate variable
speed drive and temperature
control is used for feeding cold
strip rubber and a tapered
feed hopper with level indicators
is used for granulated compounds.
Gear pumps are also available
with the X-tooth gear system.
This ensures central material
feeding and normally allows
the use of existing profile
extrusion dies without
feed modifications.
To complement the design the
extruder has a modern,
functional, system of guards and
covers to provide operator safety and
easier cleaning.
As you can see this combination of features could significantly reduce your production costs.
