The roller head aggregate is a combination of extruder, extrusion head and 2-roll-calenderused for the production of (un-) profiled innerliner- and squeegee profiles, both for
passenger and truck tires. The forged extrusion head is locked using the "Hammer Head"
locking system (link). The extrusion group, consisting of the extrusion head, extruder
and temperature control unit, hydraulic unit, and operator's panel is mounted on a movable
platform and connected to the floor mounted calender by hydraulically operated locking systems.
The extrusion head is locked completely independently of the roller head.
Our design eliminates wear points of the locking system. The complete system,
consisting of the extrusion group, temperature control units and operator's panel
on the movable platform creates an easy to operate environment while maintaining
a compact design.
Since the HF design does not require the frame of the roller head for locking
the extrusion head our system saves valuable time and compound. With our locking
arrangement, the extruder system can be backed away from the calendar without opening
the head. The nip of the calendar rolls is then accessible for production needs.
